رَضينا قِسمَةَ الجَبّارِ فينا

رَضينا قِسمَةَ الجَبّارِ فينا

لَنا عِلمٌ وَلِلجُهّالِ مالُ

لَنا عِلمٌ وَلِلجُهّالِ مالُ

We are content with the Almighty’s apportionment among us.

We accepted the decree of the Almighty concerning us

We are content with the Almighty's allotment for us:

Knowledge is ours, and wealth belongs to the ignorant.

We have knowledge while the ignorant have wealth

For us is knowledge, and for the ignorant, wealth.

فَإِنَّ المالَ يَفنى عَن قَريبٍ

فَإِنَّ المالَ يَفنى عَن قَريبٍ

وَإِنَّ العِلمَ باقٍ لا يزالُ

وَإِنَّ العِلمَ باقٍ لا يزالُ

For wealth perishes before long,

Yet wealth will soon diminish and depart

For indeed, wealth perishes before long,

And knowledge endures, never ceasing.

While knowledge remains, eternal, steadfast

While knowledge remains and never ceases.
