عُدَّ مِن نَفسِكَ الحَياةَ فَصُنها

عُدَّ مِن نَفسِكَ الحَياةَ فَصُنها

وَتَوقَّ الدُنيا وَلا تَأَمنَنها

وَتَوقَّ الدُنيا وَلا تَأَمنَنها

Reckon life part of yourself, so safeguard it.

Reckon life as part of your own soul, so safeguard it,

And beware of this world, and never trust it.

And guard against the world; do not place your trust in it.

إِنَّما جِئتَها لِتَستَقبِلَ المَو

إِنَّما جِئتَها لِتَستَقبِلَ المَو

تَ وَأُدخلتُها لِتَخرُجَ عَنها

تَ وَأُدخلتُها لِتَخرُجَ عَنها

You came to it only to meet dea-

You arrived only to advance toward death,

th; and I was brought into it so that you might depart from it.

And you were ushered in solely to depart from it.

سَوفَ يَبقى الحَديثُ بَعدَكَ فَاِنظُر

سَوفَ يَبقى الحَديثُ بَعدَكَ فَاِنظُر

أَيَّ أَحدوثَةٍ تَحِبُّ فَكُنها

أَيَّ أَحدوثَةٍ تَحِبُّ فَكُنها

The story will remain after you, so consider

The talk of you will remain after you are gone, so consider:

which tale you would love, then become it.

Which story you would love to be, and then become it.
