وَكُلُّand every خَيرٍgood thing بِهِthrough it يَكونُcomes to be
Patience is the key to what is hoped for.
Patience is the key to what is hoped for
Patience is the key to all that is hoped for,
And through it every good thing comes to be.
And with it all good things come
And through it, every goodness comes to be.
فَاِصبِرso be patient وَإِنand even if طالَتِgrow long اللَياليthe nights
فَرُبَّماfor sometimes طاوَعَyielded الحُرونُthe balky steed
So be patient, even if the nights grow long.
So be patient though the nights be long
So be patient, even if the nights grow long,
For sometimes the balky steed yields.
For soon the difficult may become easy
For perhaps the obstinate will eventually yield.
وَرُبماand sometimes نِيلَwas attained بِاِصطِبارٍthrough steadfast patience
ماwhat قيلَwas said هَيهاتَfar beyond reach! ماnot يَكونُcomes to pass
And through steadfast patience one sometimes attains
And perhaps with perseverance
And perhaps, through endurance, one may attain
What was said to be far beyond reach, never to come to pass.
What was said 'never' may be attained
That which was once said to be impossible.
