Never submit to a created being in hope of gain.

For that is weakness in your faith.

And ask God for sustenance from what is in His treasuries.

For the command lies only between the letters kāf and nūn.

Indeed, the one you look to and place your hopes in

Among created beings is a needy man, son of a needy man.

How beautiful is generosity in worldly life and in faith!

And how ugly is miserliness in one fashioned from clay!

How beautiful are faith and worldly life when they come together!

May God grant no blessing to worldly life without faith!

If the wise man grew richer through intellect,

Then every wise man would be like Qarun.

But sustenance is weighed out by a Judge,

Who gives to the wise man and gives to every fool.
