إِنَّ المَنِيَّةَ شُربَةٌ مَورودَةٌ

إِنَّ المَنِيَّةَ شُربَةٌ مَورودَةٌ

لا تَجزَعَنَّ وَشدَّ لِلتَرحيلِ

لا تَجزَعَنَّ وَشدَّ لِلتَرحيلِ

Indeed, death is a draught that must be drunk.

Death is a draught that must be drunk

Indeed, death is a draught that all must drink,

Do not be dismayed; gird yourself for departure.

Do not fret, and make ready for departure

So do not despair, and gird yourself for the departure.

إِنَّ اِبنَ آمِنَةَ النَبيّ مُحَمَّداً

إِنَّ اِبنَ آمِنَةَ النَبيّ مُحَمَّداً

رَجُلٌ صَدوقٌ قالَ عَن جبريلِ

رَجُلٌ صَدوقٌ قالَ عَن جبريلِ

Indeed, Aminah’s son, the Prophet Muhammad,

Indeed the son of Amina, the Prophet Muhammad

Verily, the son of Aminah, the Prophet Muhammad,

is a truthful man who spoke on Gabriel’s authority.

Is a truthful man who spoke of Gabriel

Is a man of truth who spoke the words of Gabriel.

إِرخِ الزِمامَ وَلا تَخَف مِن عائِقٍ

إِرخِ الزِمامَ وَلا تَخَف مِن عائِقٍ

فَاللَهُ يُرديهُم عَنِ التَنكيلِ

فَاللَهُ يُرديهُم عَنِ التَنكيلِ

Loosen the rein, and fear no obstacle.

Slacken the reins, fear no obstacle

Slacken the reins and fear no hindrance,

For God lays them low, keeping them from inflicting torment.

For God will protect you from harm

For God shall cast them down and avert their persecution.

إِنّي بِرَبّي واثِقٌ وَبِأَحمَدِ

إِنّي بِرَبّي واثِقٌ وَبِأَحمَدِ

وَسَبيلُهُ مُتلاحِقٌ بِسَبيلي

وَسَبيلُهُ مُتلاحِقٌ بِسَبيلي

Indeed, I trust in my Lord and in Ahmad,

I trust in my Lord and in Ahmed

I place my trust in my Lord and in Ahmad,

and his path is linked to mine.

And his path runs alongside mine

And his path is forever joined with my own.
