If fate binds you to a matter,
When fate decrees a thing for you
If Fate fastens a decree upon you,
then none but fate can undo it.
None can change it but fate anew
Then none but Fate can undo the knot.
فَماso what لَكَfor you قَدalready أَقَمتَyou have settled بِدارِin an abode of ذُلٍّhumiliation
وَأَرضُand the earth of اللَهِGod واسِعَةٌvast فَضاءُan open expanse
Why, then, have you settled in an abode of humiliation,
Why dwell then in the house of woes?
So why do you linger in a house of abasement,
when God's earth is vast and open?
God's world is spacious - spread and grow
When God’s earth is vast and open wide?
تَبَلَّغmake do بِاليَسيرِwith little فَكُلُّfor every شَيءٍthing
مِنَof الدُنياthis world يَكونُwill be لَهُfor it اِنتِهاءُan end
Make do with little, for everything
Bear lightly what comes, and all things
Make do with the meager, for every single thing
in this world comes to an end.
Of this world surely have endings
Of this world is destined to have an end.
