رَأَيتُ رَبّي بِعَينِ قَلبي

رَأَيتُ رَبّي بِعَينِ قَلبي

فَقُلتُ لا شَكَّ أَنتَ أَنتا

فَقُلتُ لا شَكَّ أَنتَ أَنتا

I saw my Lord with the eye of my heart.

I beheld my Lord with the eye of my heart,

So I said: Without doubt, You are You.

And I said: "Without doubt, You are You."

أَنتَ الَّذي حُزتَ كُلَّ أَينٍ

أَنتَ الَّذي حُزتَ كُلَّ أَينٍ

بِحَيثُ لا أَينَ ثَمَّ أَنتا

بِحَيثُ لا أَينَ ثَمَّ أَنتا

You are the One who has encompassed every 'where'.

You are the One who encompasses every "where,"

Where there is no 'where', there You are.

So that where there is no "where," You are there.

فَلَيسَ لِلأَينِ مِنكَ أَينٌ

فَلَيسَ لِلأَينِ مِنكَ أَينٌ

فَيَعلَمُ الأَينُ أَينَ أَنتا

فَيَعلَمُ الأَينُ أَينَ أَنتا

So 'where' has no 'where' of You,

For "where" has no location regarding You,

by which 'where' could know where You are.

That "where" might know where You are.

وَلَيسَ لِلوَهمِ فيكَ وَهمٌ

وَلَيسَ لِلوَهمِ فيكَ وَهمٌ

فَيَعلَمُ الوَهمُ كَيفَ أَنتا

فَيَعلَمُ الوَهمُ كَيفَ أَنتا

And imagination has no conception of You,

And imagination has no grasp of You,

by which imagination could know how You are.

That imagination might know how You are.

أَحَطتَ عِلماً بِكُلِّ شَيءٍ

أَحَطتَ عِلماً بِكُلِّ شَيءٍ

فَكُلُ شَيءٍ أَراهُ أَنتا

فَكُلُ شَيءٍ أَراهُ أَنتا

You have encompassed everything in knowledge.

You encompass all things in Your knowledge,

So everything I see is You.

So everything that I see is You.

وَفي فَنائي فَنا فَنائي

وَفي فَنائي فَنا فَنائي

وَفي فَنائي وَجَدتَ أَنتا

وَفي فَنائي وَجَدتَ أَنتا

And in my annihilation, my annihilation vanished.

And in my annihilation is the annihilation of my annihilation,

And in my annihilation, You Yourself found.

And in my annihilation, You are found.
