أَنا لِلحِرابِ اِلَيها

أَنا لِلحِرابِ اِلَيها

وَبِنَفسي أَتَّقيها

وَبِنَفسي أَتَّقيها

I go forth to face the spears,

I am for the sword, to it I go,

I belong to the wars, advancing towards them,

and with my own self I ward them off.

And with my soul I protect it.

And with my very soul I face their perils.

نِعمَةٌ مِن خالِقٍ

نِعمَةٌ مِن خالِقٍ

مَن بِها قَد خَصَّنيها

مَن بِها قَد خَصَّنيها

A blessing from the Creator,

A blessing from the Creator,

It is a blessing from the Creator,

who bestowed it, singling me out for it.

With which He has privileged me.

Who has singled me out to receive it.

لَن تَرى في حَومَةِ الهَي

لَن تَرى في حَومَةِ الهَي

جاءِ لِي فيها شَبيها

جاءِ لِي فيها شَبيها

You will never see in the thick of

You will not see in the battle's heat,

You will not see, in the thick of the fray,

battle anyone there like me.

One who came to it equal to me.

Anyone who resembles me therein.

وَلِيَ السُبقَةُ في الإِس

وَلِيَ السُبقَةُ في الإِس

لامِ طِفلاً وَوَجيها

لامِ طِفلاً وَوَجيها

And mine is precedence in

And I have the precedence in Islam,

Mine was the precedence in Islam,

Islam, as a child and as one of standing.

As a child and as a man of stature.

While yet a child, distinguished and high.

وَلِيَ القُربَةَ إِن قا

وَلِيَ القُربَةَ إِن قا

مَ شَريفٌ يَنتَميها

مَ شَريفٌ يَنتَميها

And mine is close kinship, should

And I have the closeness, if one day,

Mine is the kinship whenever

a nobleman rise to claim it.

An honorable man claims it.

A noble rises to claim his lineage.

زَقَّني بِالعِلمِ زَقّاً

زَقَّني بِالعِلمِ زَقّاً

فيهِ قَد صِرتُ فَقيها

فيهِ قَد صِرتُ فَقيها

He fed me knowledge as a bird feeds its young;

He blessed me with knowledge abundantly,

He fed me knowledge as a bird feeds its young,

in it I have become learned.

Through it, I have become a jurist.

Until I became a master within it.

وَلِيَ الفَخرُ عَلى النا

وَلِيَ الفَخرُ عَلى النا

سِ بِفاطِم وَبَنيها

سِ بِفاطِم وَبَنيها

And mine is distinction above

And I take pride over the people,

I hold pride over all of mankind

the people through Fatim and her sons.

With Fatima and her sons.

Through Fatima and her sons;

ثُمَ فَخري بِرَسولِ ال

ثُمَ فَخري بِرَسولِ ال

لَهِ إِذ زَوَّجنيها

لَهِ إِذ زَوَّجنيها

Then my pride is in the Messenger of

Then my pride is in the Messenger of God,

Then my pride is in the Messenger of God,

God, when he gave her to me in marriage.

When he married me to her.

For it was he who gave her to me in marriage.

لِيَ وَقعاتٌ بِبَدرٍ

لِيَ وَقعاتٌ بِبَدرٍ

يَومَ حارَ الناسِ فيها

يَومَ حارَ الناسِ فيها

I have battles to my name at Badr,

And I had glorious moments in Badr,

I had great encounters at Badr,

on the day the people were bewildered amid them,

The day people were confused in it.

The day men were bewildered therein;

وَبِأُحدٍ وَحُنَينٍ

وَبِأُحدٍ وَحُنَينٍ

ثُمَّ صَولاتٌ تَليها

ثُمَّ صَولاتٌ تَليها

and at Uhud and Hunayn,

And in Ohod and Hunayn,

And at Uhud, and at Hunayn,

then charges that followed them.

Then assaults followed them.

And the assaults that followed after.

وَأَنا الحامِلُ لِلرا

وَأَنا الحامِلُ لِلرا

يَةِ حقاً أَحتَويها

يَةِ حقاً أَحتَويها

And I am the bearer of the

And I carry the banner truly,

I am the bearer of the banner;

banner; truly, I hold it.

Containing it.

In truth, I hold it in my grasp.

وَإِذا أَضرَمَ حَرباً

وَإِذا أَضرَمَ حَرباً

أَحمَدٌ قَدَّمَنيها

أَحمَدٌ قَدَّمَنيها

And whenever he kindled a war,

And if Ahmad goes to war,

And whenever Ahmad kindled a war,

Ahmad sent me forward into it.

He sends me forth in it.

He placed me at its very front.

وَإِذا نادى رَسولُ ال

وَإِذا نادى رَسولُ ال

لهِ نَحوي قُلتُ إيها

لهِ نَحوي قُلتُ إيها

And whenever the Messenger of

And if the Messenger of God calls,

And when the Messenger of God called

God called to me, I said, "Go on!"

Towards me saying: Come to me!

Towards me, I answered: "At your command!"
