أَنا بِالدَهرِ عَليمٌ

أَنا بِالدَهرِ عَليمٌ

وَاَبو الدَهرِ وَأُمُه

وَاَبو الدَهرِ وَأُمُه

I am well acquainted with Time,

I am wise in the ways of time

I am deeply learned in the ways of Time,

and am Time’s father and its mother.

And father and mother to time

I am the father of Time and its mother.

لَيسَ يَأتي الدَهرُ يَوماً

لَيسَ يَأتي الدَهرُ يَوماً

بِسُرورٍ فيُتِمُّه

بِسُرورٍ فيُتِمُّه

Never does Time come on any day

Time will never bring a day

Never does Time bring forth a day

with joy and bring it to completion.

Of happiness that's here to stay

Of joy that it allows to be complete.
