I am the trusted youth of Quraysh,
I am the trusty Qurashi lad
I am the trusted youth of the Quraysh,
Noble and bright-browed, a lion like a long, strong rope.
Glorious, white-toothed lion in form
The noble, the bright-faced, a lion like a sinewy rope,

The lords among the people of Yemen are pleased with him,
Pleasing to the chiefs of Yemen's clans
With whom the chieftains of the people of Yemen are well-pleased,
Among the inhabitants of Najd and the people of Aden.
Of Najd's dwellers and the folk of Aden
From the dwellers of Najd and the people of Aden.

Father of Husayn—know this well—father of Hasan.
Father of Hussein, know! Father of Hasan
[My father is] Abu al-Husayn, and know well, [my grandfather is] Abu al-Hasan,
He has indeed come to you; you draw the reins and halter.
Now to you comes the guidable steed fully caparisoned
He has come to you, leading the reins and the halter.
