أَنا اِبنُ ذي الحَوضَينِ عَبدِ المُطَّلِب

أَنا اِبنُ ذي الحَوضَينِ عَبدِ المُطَّلِب

وَهاشِمُ المُطِعِمُ في العامِ السَغَب

وَهاشِمُ المُطِعِمُ في العامِ السَغَب

I am the son of Abd al-Muttalib, possessor of the two pools,

I am the son of he who has the two pools, Abd al-Muttalib

I am the son of the Lord of the Two Basins, Abd al-Muttalib,

and of Hashim, who gave food in the year of famine.

And Hashim, who provides food in the year of drought

And of Hashim, who provided food in the year of famine,

أُوفي بِميعادي وَأَحمي عَن حَسَب

أُوفي بِميعادي وَأَحمي عَن حَسَب

I keep my promise and defend my ancestral honor.

I fulfill my promise and defend from ill fate

I fulfill my promise and stand in defense of my honor.
