Virtue stems from the generosity of one's nature,

And reminding others of favors corrupts the good deed.

Goodness is more formidable to attain

Than the peak of an unconquerable mountain,

While evil races forward with greater speed

Than the current of swift-flowing waters.

Neglecting the bond with a friend

Is the surest invitation for estrangement.

Do not soil yourself with slander,

For slander among people will eventually soil you.

Indeed, a feigned character cannot endure,

But must inevitably revert to its true nature.

Mankind was molded, among all God's servants,

Upon traits both noble and base.
