لا تَحسَبَنّي يا عَلِيُّ غافِلاً

لا تَحسَبَنّي يا عَلِيُّ غافِلاً

لِأَورِدَنَّ الكُوفَةَ القَنابِلا

لِأَورِدَنَّ الكُوفَةَ القَنابِلا

Do not think me heedless, O Ali.

Do not think me, O Ali, inattentive,

Do not reckon, O Ali, that I am heedless,

I shall surely bring cavalry bands to Kufa,

I shall hurl at Kufa my rugged rocks,

For I shall surely lead the squadrons into Kufa,

بِجَمعيَ العامَ وَجَمعيَ قابِلا

بِجَمعيَ العامَ وَجَمعيَ قابِلا

With my army this year and my army next year.

With all my strength, prepared and ready.

With my host this year, and my host the next.
