أَبٌنّيO my son إِنَّindeed مِنَamong الرِجالِmen بَهيمَةًa beast
أَبٌنّي إِنَّ مِنَ الرِجالِ بَهيمَةً
فيin صورَةِthe form of الرَجُلِthe man السَميعِwho hears المُبصِرِwho sees
في صورَةِ الرَجُلِ السَميعِ المُبصِرِ
My son, among men there is a beast
Father, some men are beasts
My son, truly among men there is a beast,
In the form of a man who hears and sees,
in a man's form, hearing and seeing.
In the form of a hearing, seeing man;
فَطِنٌalert بِكُلِّto every رَزّيَةٍcalamity فيin مالِهِhis wealth
فَطِنٌ بِكُلِّ رَزّيَةٍ في مالِهِ
وَإِذاand when أُصيبَhe is afflicted بِدينِهُin his faith لَمdid not يَشعُرِhe notice
وَإِذا أُصيبَ بِدينِهُ لَم يَشعُرِ
Alert to every calamity affecting his wealth,
Shrewd concerning any profit in his money,
He is astute regarding every calamity in his wealth,
Yet when afflicted in his faith, he does not notice.
yet senseless when called to pay his debts.
But if stricken in his faith, he feels it not.
