لَعَمرُكَ ما الإِنسانُ إِلّا بِدينِهِ

فَلا تَترُكِ التَقوى اِتِّكالاً عَلى النَسَب

By your life, a person's worth lies only in his faith.

By your life! A man is only through his faith.

By your life, man is nothing but his religion,

So do not abandon piety, relying on lineage.

So do not abandon piety relying on lineage.

So do not abandon piety to rely on ancestry;

فَقَد رَفَعَ الإِسلامُ سَلمانَ فارِسٍ

فَقَد رَفَعَ الإِسلامُ سَلمانَ فارِسٍ

وَقَد وَضَعَ الشِركُ الشَريفَ أَبا لَهَب

وَقَد وَضَعَ الشِركُ الشَريفَ أَبا لَهَب

For Islam has exalted Salman of Persia,

For Islam has raised the status of Salman the Persian,

For Islam has indeed elevated Salman the Persian,

And polytheism has brought low the noble-born Abu Lahab.

While polytheism degraded the noble Abu Lahab.

And polytheism has abased the noble Abu Lahab.
