And no gazelle that captivates hearts with her gaze—
No gazelle that captivates hearts with her glance,
when she turns, we imagine magic in her eyelids—
In whose eyelids, when she turns, we perceive magic,
بِأَحسَنَany fairer مِنهُthan him كَلَّلَcrowned السَيفُthe sword وَجهَهُhis face

دَماً في سَبيلِ اللَهِ حَتّى قَضى صَبرا
is fairer than he, whose face the sword crowned
Is fairer than he whose face the sword has crowned
with blood in God's cause, until he died steadfastly.
With blood in the path of God, until he died steadfast.
