ذُنوبيَmy sins إِنif فَكَّرتُI reflect فيهاon them كَثيرَةٌmany
وَرَحمَةُand the mercy رَبّيof my Lord مِنthan ذُنوبيmy sins أَوسَعُvaster
My sins, if I reflect on them, are many,
My sins, when I contemplate them, are truly many,
and my Lord's mercy is vaster than my sins.
Yet the mercy of my Lord is vaster than my sins.
فَماso, not طَمَعيmy hope فيin صالِحٍa good deed قَدindeed عَمِلتُهُI have done it
وَلَكِنَّنيbut I فيin رَحمَةِthe mercy اللَهِof God أَطمَعُI hope
So my hope is not in any good deed I have done,
My hope lies not in any righteous deed I have done,
but in God's mercy I place my hope.
But it is for the mercy of God that I yearn.
فَإِنso if يَكُthere is غُفرانٌforgiveness فَذاكَthen that بِرَحمَةٍthrough mercy
وَإِنand if لَمnot يَكُنthere is أُجزىI am recompensed بِماfor what كُنتُI used to أَصنَعُdo
So if there is forgiveness, it is through mercy,
If there is forgiveness, it is granted through grace,
and if there is none, I am recompensed for what I used to do.
And if not, I am simply requited for what I have wrought.
مَليكيmy King وَمَولائيand my Master وَرَبّيand my Lord وَحافِظيand my Protector
وَإِنّيand indeed I لَهُto Him عَبدٌa servant أَقِرُّI acknowledge وَأَخضَعُand I submit
My King and my Master, my Lord and my Protector—
My King, my Master, my Lord, and my Protector,
and I am indeed His servant; I acknowledge this and submit.
I am truly His servant, who confesses and submits.
