أَلاAh! أَيُّهاO المَوتُDeath الَّذيwho لَيسَis not تارِكيleaving me
أَلا أَيُّها المَوتُ الَّذي لَيسَ تارِكي
أَرِحنيgive me rest فَقَدfor indeed أَفنَيتَyou have destroyed كُلَّevery خَليلِdear friend
أَرِحني فَقَد أَفنَيتَ كُلَّ خَليلِ
Ah, O Death, who will not leave me,
O Death, who spares no one,
O Death, you who will not spare me,
Give me rest, for you have destroyed every dear friend.
Give me rest, for you have destroyed all my friends,
Grant me rest, for you have annihilated every close friend.
أَراكَI see you مُضِراًbringing harm بِالَّذينَto those whom أَحبُّهُمI love them
أَراكَ مُضِراً بِالَّذينَ أَحبُّهُم
كَأَنَّكَas though you تَنحوhead نَحوَهُمtoward them بدَليلِwith a guide
كَأَنَّكَ تَنحو نَحوَهُم بدَليلِ
I see you harming those I love,
I see you as harmful to those I love,
I see you intent on harming those I love,
As though you head toward them with a guide.
As if you are approaching them instead of me.
As though you are heading toward them with a guide.
