أَلَم تَرَ أَنَّ البَحرَ يَنضُبُ ماؤُهُ
وَيَأتيand come عَلىupon حيتانِهِits fish نُوَبُthe calamities الدَهرِof time
وَيَأتي عَلى حيتانِهِ نُوَبُ الدَهرِ
Have you not seen that the sea’s water dries up,
Do you not see that the sea's water runs dry,
And the calamities of time destroy its fish?
And the calamities of time overtake its whales?
