أَقيكَI shield you بِنَفسيwith my own life أَيُّهاO المُصطفىthe Chosen One الَّذيwho
هَداناguided us بِهِthrough him الرَحمَنُthe All-Merciful مِنfrom عَمَهِblind confusion الجَهلِignorance
I shield you with my own life, O Chosen One,
I shield you with my own soul, O Chosen One, through whom
Through whom the All-Merciful guided us from ignorance's blind confusion.
The Most Merciful guided us out of the wandering of ignorance;
وَأَفديكَand I ransom you حَوبائيmy soul وَماand what قَدرthe worth of مُهجَتيmy lifeblood
لِمَنfor one who أَنتَميI trace my kinship فيهِthrough him إِلىto الفَرعِthe branch وَالأَصلِand the root
And I ransom you with my soul—what is my lifeblood worth
I ransom you with my spirit—yet what is the worth of my lifeblood
To one with whom I am kin in both branch and root?
For him to whom I am kin in branch and in root?
وَمَنand one who ضَمَّنيtook me into his care مُذsince كُنتُI was طِفلاًa child وَيافِعاًand a youth

And who sheltered me from childhood through youth,
He who embraced me since I was a child and a growing youth,
And revived me with his second draught and his first.
And refreshed me with the second draught and the first,

And whose offspring are my offspring, and whose daughter is my wife;
From whose line comes my line, and from whose daughter, my household;

And from the time he paired in brotherhood those who were present,
There he made me his brother and made some of my merit known.
It was there he named me brother and revealed my merit.

For the perfection of what you conferred, O Seal of the Messengers.
