Indeed, my day at the hands of al-Zubayr and Tal-
My days with Zubair and Talha are long
Verily, my day with Al-Zubayr and Talhah,
ha is truly long in the grief it brings me.
When they do me wrong and treat me unfair
In that which brings me sorrow, is long indeed.

They both wronged me; yet—God knows—
They wronged me, though Allah did not allow
They wronged me, though there was not—as Allah knows—
no creature had a path to wronging me.
Their nature to follow the path of injustice
Any path towards injustice within my nature.
