أَنا عَلِيٌّ وَاِبنُ عَبدِ المُطَّلِب

أَحمي ذِماري وَأَذُبُّ عَن حَسَب

I am Ali, and son of Abd al-Muttalib.

I am Ali, and the son of Abd al-Muttalib,

I guard all I must protect and defend my ancestral honor.

I defend my possessions and protect my lineage

I guard my sacred trust and defend my lineage,

وَالمَوتُ خَيرٌ لِلفَتى مِنَ الهَرَب

وَالمَوتُ خَيرٌ لِلفَتى مِنَ الهَرَب

And death is better for a young man than flight.

And death is better for the youth than fleeing

For death is better for a youth than flight.
