غلامٌa boy جاءcame منfrom ظهريmy loins شقيّاwicked
yet the greatest and most grievous of my afflictions
is a wicked boy sprung from my own loins.

كلاناboth of us بالخلافin opposition غداbecame سويّاalike
I want him to live, while he wants to kill me;
we have become alike in our opposing aims.

He donned every ruse as armor for wrongdoing,
and shunned me, showing me no loving concern.
