يا ذا الذي جمع الفؤاد غرامهُ
فغذاand so fed بنيرانwith the fires of الهوىpassion يكويهscorches it
فغذا بنيران الهوى يكويه
O you whose love has gathered the heart,
O you who gathered his heart's passion
And so fed it with the fires of passion, scorching it.
And fed it with the fires of love that burn him
لوif لمnot بكنbe (apparently a typo for يكن) قلبيmy heart لحبّكfor your love جامعاa mosque
لو لم بكن قلبي لحبّك جامعا
ماnot كانwould be مُنعكفاًsecluded in devotion يُصلّيpraying فيهwithin it
ما كان مُنعكفاً يُصلّي فيه
Were my heart not a mosque for your love,
Had my heart not been a vessel for your love
It would not remain in retreat, praying within it.
It would not be bent in prayer within me
