ياO قامةfigure مثلlike غُصنbranch البانthe bān tree مُنعطفاbending
يا قامة مثل غُصن البان مُنعطفا
فيin وصفهاher description منهُfrom it كلُّall الحسنbeauty مُجتمعُgathered
في وصفها منهُ كلُّ الحسن مُجتمعُ
O figure, like a bending branch of the bān tree,
O figure like a bending branch of ebony
All its beauty is gathered in the description of her.
In describing her all beauty is assembled
لاno غروwonder أنthat طارflew فيهاfor her القلبُthe heart منout of ولهlovesick longing
لا غرو أن طار فيها القلبُ من وله
إنّindeed الطّيورthe birds علىon أمثالهاthe likes of her تقعُalight
إنّ الطّيور على أمثالها تقعُ
No wonder the heart flew to her out of lovesick longing:
No wonder that the heart flew to her in passion
Indeed, birds alight on the likes of her.
Birds alight on the likes of her, it's expected
