الان يا غُصن النّقا

الان يا غُصن النّقا

بالفصد وصلك يُطلبُ

بالفصد وصلك يُطلبُ

Now, O branch of the sand dune,

Now, O branch of purity

union with you is sought through bloodletting;

With chastity your company is sought

فالغصنُ يُفصدُ عرقُه

فالغصنُ يُفصدُ عرقُه

كي ما عليه يُركبُ

كي ما عليه يُركبُ

for the branch has its vein bled

So the branch oozes its sap

so that a graft may be placed upon it.

That none on it may mount
