بشاطئ المرسي في رياض بساتين
May God preserve an evening from the days of my life,
God has cared for me since the days of my life
On the shore of al-Marsa, amid garden meadows,
An evening on the coast of the dock in the gardens

مُحياُ يُغني عن رياض الرّياحين
That brought us a graceful youth with spellbinding glances,
Bring me the dawn of glances singing
A face that leaves no need for gardens of fragrant plants.
Reviving the gardens of meadows

فيا ليلتهُ من مورد الشّغر يُحييني
A gazelle who slays the lovesick with the sword of his glance—
A gazelle with the sword of a glance a killer of youth
Oh, would that he revive me from the fountain of his mouth!
Oh his night from the pasture of poetry revives me

علاجيومن لي بالمعالج يُشفيني
Whenever the cup of passion wastes me, his saliva
When he healed me the cup of love separated me
Is my remedy—and who can bring me the healer to cure me?
My cure and who will heal me
