سهرتُ على لثم الشّقيقين بخدّه
ورشفand sipping رُضابsweet saliva لمnot أزلI ceased منهُfrom it فيin سُكرintoxication
ورشف رُضاب لم أزل منهُ في سُكر
I stayed awake kissing the two anemones on his cheek,
I stayed up all night kissing her rosy cheeks,
And sipping sweet saliva that has kept me ever intoxicated.
Drinking sips of pleasure, still drunk with ecstasy.
ولستُand I am not أخافُI fear السّحرsorcery منfrom لحظاتهhis glances
ولستُ أخافُ السّحر من لحظاته
لأنّيbecause I بموسىthrough Moses قدindeed أمنتُI became safe منfrom السّحرsorcery
لأنّي بموسى قد أمنتُ من السّحر
And I do not fear the sorcery of his glances,
Her glances hold no sorcery over me,
For through Moses I have found safety from sorcery.
For like Moses, from magic I feel free.
