نظم القريضُ وتعظيما لطالبها

O you who have come seeking my authorization in

The composition of verse, and in veneration of its seeker,

فبالقريضوبالاداب أجمعها

أصبحت في تُونس أنت الأجلُّ بها

By verse and literature entire,

You have become the most eminent in Tunis.
