سُميّا مضرٌّ كنصف اسمه

ولكن أذاهُ إلى الخلق عمّا

Sumayya is as harmful as half his name;

Sumayyā is harmful, like half his name,

yet his injury has spread throughout creation.

yet his harm has spread to all humankind.

لذاك الورى كلّهم يشتهون

لذاك الورى كلّهم يشتهون

سُميّا بنصف اسمه أن يُسمّا

سُميّا بنصف اسمه أن يُسمّا

And so, all humankind wishes

That is why all people wish

that Sumayya were called by half his name.

that Sumayyā be called by half his name.
