The pampered gazelle visited me

As the sleeper went to bed
وحبانيand favored me بمقبّلwith a mouth to kiss
وحباني بمقبّل
عنrevealing لالpearls باسمsmiling
عن لال باسم
And graced me with a mouth to kiss,
And kissed me with a kiss
Smiling to reveal its pearls.

كوثرKawthar يحكيresembles وسلسلand sweet-flowing water
كوثر يحكي وسلسل
فيهin it محياthe life of العالمthe world
فيه محيا العالم
It resembles Kawthar and sweet-flowing water;
Abundance tells a tale and a chain
In it lies the life of the world.
Wherein the world's beauty resides
كزمانlike an age قدhas تجمّلbecome adorned
كزمان قد تجمّل
بمليكwith a sovereign راحمmerciful
بمليك راحم
Like an age that has been adorned
Like a time that adorned itself
With a merciful sovereign,
With a merciful king
بعليّwith Ali بنson of حُسينHusayn
بعليّ بن حُسين
ذيpossessed of الجلالmajesty الحازمthe resolute one
ذي الجلال الحازم
With Ali, son of Husayn,
Ali the son of Hussein
Possessed of majesty, resolute.
Of resolute majesty
عدلهُhis justice بدرٌa full moon تكمّلbecame complete
عدلهُ بدرٌ تكمّل
فيin ظلامdarkness فاحمcoal-black
في ظلام فاحم
His justice is a moon grown full

In intense darkness
ذكرُهُmention of him مسكٌmusk ومندلand aloeswood
ذكرُهُ مسكٌ ومندل
بعبيرwith fragrance ناسمgently wafting
بعبير ناسم
The mention of him is musk and aloeswood,
His mention is musk and a scarf
With a gently wafting fragrance.
With a delicate fragrance
حلمهُhis forbearance لاdoes not يتبدّلchange
حلمهُ لا يتبدّل
بملامunder the reproach of اللائمthe faultfinder
بملام اللائم
His forbearance does not change
His forbearance does not change
Under the faultfinder's reproach.
Despite the blamer's blame
فيin الدّياجيthe dark nights يتبتّلhe devotes himself to worship
في الدّياجي يتبتّل
للحكيمto the Wise One الحاكمthe Judge
للحكيم الحاكم
In the dark nights he devotes himself
In the dark he prays
To the Wise One, the Judge.
To the Wise Ruler
زادهُmay He grant him more الرّبُّthe Lord المؤمّلin whom hope is placed
زادهُ الرّبُّ المؤمّل
طُولlength of عُمرlife سالمfree from harm
طُول عُمر سالم
May the Lord in whom hope is placed grant him
The Lord granted him the hope
Long life, free from harm,
Of a long life in safety
فيin هناbliss بالأمنwith security مُكمّلmade complete
في هنا بالأمن مُكمّل
بالنّبيّthrough the Prophet الخاتمthe Seal
بالنّبيّ الخاتم
In bliss made complete by security,
By the Final Prophet
Through the Prophet, the Seal.
