تحدّث قوم عنك بالبرء والشّفا

تحدّث قوم عنك بالبرء والشّفا

وقد قال قومٌ بالسّقام طريحُ

وقد قال قومٌ بالسّقام طريحُ

Some people spoke of your recovery and healing;

Some speak of you with innocence and healing

and others said you were laid low by illness.

While others with illness fallen say

وعندي ضعفٌ في الأخير وإنّما

وعندي ضعفٌ في الأخير وإنّما

حديثُ الشّفا يرويه عنك صحيحُ

حديثُ الشّفا يرويه عنك صحيحُ

And to me, the latter report is weak; rather,

Though I am weak in the end

the report of your healing is related by a sound narrator.
