أَنشَأتَهاyou created it بِركَةًa pool مُبارَكَةًblessed
أَنشَأتَها بِركَةً مُبارَكَةً
فَبارَكَso may He bless اللَهُGod فيin عَواقِبِهاits outcomes
فَبارَكَ اللَهُ في عَواقِبِها
You created it as a blessed pool;
He created it as a blessed blessing
so may God bless what comes of it.
So God blessed its consequences
حُفَّتwas surrounded بِماwith what تَشتَهيdesire النُفوسُsouls لَهاfor it
حُفَّت بِما تَشتَهي النُفوسُ لَها
وَحارَتِand were bewildered الناسُpeople فيby عَجائِبِهاits wonders
وَحارَتِ الناسُ في عَجائِبِها
It is ringed with what souls desire for it,
It is adorned with what souls desire of it
and people are bewildered by its wonders.
And people are amazed at its wonders
لَمdid not يَخلُقِcreate اللَهُGod مِثلَهاits like وَطَناًan abode
لَم يَخلُقِ اللَهُ مِثلَها وَطَناً
فيin مَشرِقِthe east of الأَرضِthe earth أَوor مَغارِبِهاits western reaches
في مَشرِقِ الأَرضِ أَو مَغارِبِها
God has created no abode like it
God did not create a homeland like it
in the earth's east or its western reaches.
In the east or west of the earth
كَأَنَّهاas though it وَالرِياضُand the gardens مُحدِقَةٌencircling
كَأَنَّها وَالرِياضُ مُحدِقَةٌ
بِهاaround it عَروسٌa bride تُجلىis unveiled لِخاطِبِهاfor her suitor
بِها عَروسٌ تُجلى لِخاطِبِها
As though it, with gardens encircling
It is as if it and its gardens are staring
it, were a bride unveiled for her suitor.
At it a bride revealing herself to her suitor
مِنfrom أَيِّany أَقطارِهاits sides أَتَيتَyou came رَأَيsaw (split verb stem)
مِن أَيِّ أَقطارِها أَتَيتَ رَأَي
تَyou (split verb ending) الحُسنَbeauty حَيرانَbewildered فيin جَوانِبِهاits sides
تَ الحُسنَ حَيرانَ في جَوانِبِها
From whichever side of it you approach, you see
From which of its regions did you come and see
beauty bewildered along its sides.
Beauty confused on its sides
لِلمَوجِfor the waves فيهاin it تَلاطُمٌa clashing عَجَبٌwondrous
لِلمَوجِ فيها تَلاطُمٌ عَجَبٌ
وَالجَزرُand the ebb وَالمَدُّand the flow فيin مَشارِبِهاits water channels
وَالجَزرُ وَالمَدُّ في مَشارِبِها
The waves within it clash wondrously,
The waves in it have an amazing surge
and ebb and flow course through its water channels.
And the tides in its waters
قَدَّرَهاordained it اللَهُGod لِلإِمامِfor the Imam وَماand did not
قَدَّرَها اللَهُ لِلإِمامِ وَما
قَدَّرَordain فيهاin it عَيباًa flaw لِعائِبِهاfor its faultfinder
قَدَّرَ فيها عَيباً لِعائِبِها
God ordained it for the Imam, and did not
God ordained it for the Imam and ordained
ordain a flaw in it for its faultfinder.
No flaws in it for its critic
أَهدَتgave as a gift إِلَيهاto it الدُنياthe world مَحاسِنَهاits beauties
أَهدَت إِلَيها الدُنيا مَحاسِنَها
وَأَكمَلَand perfected اللَهُGod حُسنَthe beauty of صاحِبِهاits owner
وَأَكمَلَ اللَهُ حُسنَ صاحِبِها
The world bestowed its beauties upon it,
The world gifted its beauties to it
and God perfected the beauty of its owner.
And God perfected the beauty of its dweller
