They did not raise up at Shadhiyakh, on the morning of
Monday, an obscure or unknown man.

They raised up, praise be to God, one who filled their eyes
with honor, and their breasts with reverence.

He only rose in stature through his refusal,
and his enemies recoiled from him all the more.

Let the enemies not feel safe from his assaults—
an assault that cuts their heads to pieces.

It did not disgrace him that his clothing was stripped from him;
for a sword is most fearsome when seen unsheathed.

by being freely displayed on the night of its fullness.

are blessings, even if they trouble him a little.

And God is not heedless of his plight;
and your Lord suffices as a helper and guardian.
