العَسَلِيّاتُ الَّتي فَرَّقَت

العَسَلِيّاتُ الَّتي فَرَّقَت

بَينَ ذَوي الرِشدَةِ وَالغَيِّ

بَينَ ذَوي الرِشدَةِ وَالغَيِّ

The honey-colored garments that have separated

The sweet nothings that set apart

those rightly guided from those astray.

The wise from foolish hearts

وَما عَلى العاقِلِ أَن يَكثُروا

وَما عَلى العاقِلِ أَن يَكثُروا

فَإِنَّهُ أَكثَرُ لِلفَيِّ

فَإِنَّهُ أَكثَرُ لِلفَيِّ

And the wise man need not mind their growing numbers,

Need not preoccupy the sagely mind

for that means more tribute revenue.

For they are but foolishness defined
