لَلُبسُsurely, wearing ثَوبَينِtwo garments بِاليَينِthreadbare
لَلُبسُ ثَوبَينِ بِاليَينِ
وَطَيُّand going hungry for يَومٍa day وَلَيلَتَينِand two nights
وَطَيُّ يَومٍ وَلَيلَتَينِ
Surely, wearing two threadbare garments
Wearing two garments with the hands
and going hungry for a day and two nights
And living a day and two nights
أَيسَرُeasier مِنthan مِنَّةٍa favor لِقَومٍfrom people
أَيسَرُ مِن مِنَّةٍ لِقَومٍ
أَغُضُّI lower مِنهاbecause of it جُفونَthe eyelids of عَينيmy eye
أَغُضُّ مِنها جُفونَ عَيني
is easier than accepting a favor from people
Is easier than owing a favor to people
because of which I lower my eyelids.
Whose eyes are more closed than it
