أَميلُI incline مَعَwith الذِمامِthe bond of loyalty عَلىagainst اِبنِson of أُمّيmy mother
وَآخُذُand I take لِلصَديقِfor the friend مِنَfrom الشَقيقِthe full brother
I side with the bond of loyalty against my mother's son,
I lean with the bush towards my mother's son,
And take from my own brother on a friend's behalf.
And I take from the loyal one for a friend;
وَإِنand if أَلفَيتَنيyou find me حُرّاًfree مُطاعاًobeyed
فَإِنَّكَthen indeed you واجِديwill find me عَبدَa slave to الصَديقِthe friend
And even if you find me free and obeyed,
And if you think me free, obeyed,
You will indeed find me a slave to my friend.
Then you will find me a slave of the loyal one;
أُفَرِّقُI separate بَينَbetween مَعروفيmy kindness وَمَنّيand my reminders of favors
وَأَجمَعُand I unite بَينَbetween ماليmy wealth وَالحُقوقِand rightful claims
I keep my kindness apart from reminding others of my favors,
I separate between my kindness and my grudge,
And join my wealth to rightful claims.
And I gather between my wealth and rights.
