وَمَنand who ذاthis one الَّذيwho تُرضىare approved of سَجاياهُhis character traits كُلُّهاall of them
وَمَن ذا الَّذي تُرضى سَجاياهُ كُلُّها
كَفىsuffices المَرءَa man نُبلاًin nobility أَنthat تُعَدَّbe counted مَعايِبُهْhis faults
كَفى المَرءَ نُبلاً أَن تُعَدَّ مَعايِبُهْ
And who is there whose traits are all pleasing?
And who is there whose qualities all please us?
It is nobility enough for a man that his faults can be counted.
'Tis enough honour for the noble if his faults are counted.
