عجائبُ أرضِ اللّهِ شَتَّى كَثيرَةٌ

عجائبُ أرضِ اللّهِ شَتَّى كَثيرَةٌ

وأعْجَبُها حاوي المَناقِبِ يَزْدَنُ

وأعْجَبُها حاوي المَناقِبِ يَزْدَنُ

The wonders of God's earth are many and diverse.

The wonders of God's land are manifold

And most wondrous of them is Yazdan, possessor of virtues.

But the most wondrous is the one of noble traits

تَعَذَّرَ في الناسِ الكمالُ وحازَهُ

تَعَذَّرَ في الناسِ الكمالُ وحازَهُ

بأجْمَعِهِ والنَّقْصُ خَزْيانُ مُذْعِنُ

بأجْمَعِهِ والنَّقْصُ خَزْيانُ مُذْعِنُ

Perfection proved unattainable among men, yet he attained it

Perfection eluded people yet he attained it whole

In its entirety, while imperfection stands abashed and submissive.

Flawless, while deficiency is the mark of one resigned

فبأسٌ وإِقدامٌ ولُطْفٌ ورأفَةٌ

فبأسٌ وإِقدامٌ ولُطْفٌ ورأفَةٌ

وجودٌ كصَوْبِ المُزْنِ يَهْمي ويَهْتِنُ

وجودٌ كصَوْبِ المُزْنِ يَهْمي ويَهْتِنُ

Thus valor and daring, gentleness and compassion,

Courage and valor, kindness and mercy

And generosity like rain from rainclouds, streaming and pouring down.

Generosity like heavy rain pouring forth

وعِلْمٌ تُخَفِّيهِ الإِمارَةُ كامِنٌ

وعِلْمٌ تُخَفِّيهِ الإِمارَةُ كامِنٌ

ولكنَّهُ عند التَّفاوضِ بَيِّنُ

ولكنَّهُ عند التَّفاوضِ بَيِّنُ

And knowledge lies hidden, concealed by his princely office,

Knowledge hidden by rule, latent

Yet it is evident in discussion.

Yet evident when contending and debating

وخاشٍ مِن الرَّحْمنِ في خَلَواتِهِ

وخاشٍ مِن الرَّحْمنِ في خَلَواتِهِ

لَفوتٌ إِلى ذِكْرِ العَواقِبِِ مُحْسِنُ

لَفوتٌ إِلى ذِكْرِ العَواقِبِِ مُحْسِنُ

And he fears the Most Merciful in his solitude,

God-fearing in his solitude

Ever turning his thoughts to consequences, doing good.

Seeking reward through contemplating the consequences

يُسِرُّ نَداهُ في العُفاةِ تَرَفُّعاً

يُسِرُّ نَداهُ في العُفاةِ تَرَفُّعاً

ولكِنْ لنَصْرِ الجارِ مُبْدٍ ومُعْلِنُ

ولكِنْ لنَصْرِ الجارِ مُبْدٍ ومُعْلِنُ

He conceals his bounty to supplicants, out of high-mindedness,

His generosity demeans the destitute out of pride

But displays and proclaims his support for his neighbor.

But for aiding neighbors he's keen and open

ووافٍ بأسْلافِ العُهودِ وِدادُهُ

ووافٍ بأسْلافِ العُهودِ وِدادُهُ

مِن الخَطْبِ واللأواءِ حِصْنٌ مُحَصَّنُ

مِن الخَطْبِ واللأواءِ حِصْنٌ مُحَصَّنُ

And faithful to pledges of old; his friendship

Loyal to covenants of old with his affection

Is a fortified stronghold against calamity and hardship.

A fortress fortified against misfortune and affliction

مُظفَّرُ دينِ اللّهِ والماجِدُ الذي

مُظفَّرُ دينِ اللّهِ والماجِدُ الذي

تَزيدُ بهِ الدُّنْيا بَهاءً وتَحْسُنُ

تَزيدُ بهِ الدُّنْيا بَهاءً وتَحْسُنُ

Muzaffar Din Allah, and the noble man who

Victorious for God's religion, the glorious one

Makes the world more radiant and beautiful.

Through whom the world gleams brighter and seems wholesome

فهُنِّىءَ شَهْرُ الصَّوْمِ والدَّهْرُ كُلُّهُ

فهُنِّىءَ شَهْرُ الصَّوْمِ والدَّهْرُ كُلُّهُ

بعَلْيائِهِ ما كَرَّ صُبْحٌ ومَوْهِنُ

بعَلْيائِهِ ما كَرَّ صُبْحٌ ومَوْهِنُ

So congratulations to the month of fasting, and all of time,

So congratulations to the fasting month, and to all time

On his eminence, as long as dawn and deep night return.

For his sublime ascent, however long the night and gloaming
