بَقاءٌenduring existence وأنَّand that الموتdeath أشْرفُthe noblest مَغْنَمِgain
The sincere and illustrious see that their perishing
The devoted see their death as life
is lasting life, and that death is the noblest gain.
And consider death the most noble gain
كقولlike the saying of عليٍّʿAlī مُعْلناًproclaiming قبلbefore موتِهِhis death
لقدindeed فُزْتُI have triumphed والبيتِby the House العتيقِancient المُحرَّمsacred
As ʿAlī proclaimed before his death:
Like Ali's saying before his death:
“Indeed I have triumphed, by the ancient, sacred House!”
"I have succeeded and attained the Ancient House"
فأصبحso he became مسْعوداًfortunate بشقْوَةِthrough the misery of غيرِهِsomeone other than him
وأدْنىand brought near لهto him المأمولَwhat was hoped for كُفْرُunbelief ابنson of ملْجَمMuljam
So he became fortunate through another’s misery,
So he was blessed through others' misery
And Ibn Muljam’s unbelief brought what he hoped for within his reach.
And the lowest hope for him was the disbelief of Ibn Muljam
