صِنْوَ النبي رأيتُ قافيتي
أوصافَdescriptions of ماwhat أُوتيتَyou were granted لاnot تسعُencompasses
أوصافَ ما أُوتيتَ لا تسعُ
O counterpart of the Prophet, I found that my rhyme
The Prophet's manners I saw my rhyme
Cannot encompass descriptions of what you have been granted.
Descriptions of what you were given do not suffice
فجعلتso I made مدحيmy praise الصمتsilence عنabout شرفٍnobility
فجعلت مدحي الصمت عن شرفٍ
كلُّall المَدائحthe praises دونهُbeneath it تقعُfall
كلُّ المَدائح دونهُ تقعُ
So I made silence my praise of a nobility
So I made my praise of you silence from glory
That all praises fall short of.
All other praises compared to it seem paltry
ماذاwhat أقولُI say وكلُّand everything مُقْتَسمٍapportioned
ماذا أقولُ وكلُّ مُقْتَسمٍ
بينamong الأفاضلthe eminent فيكin you مجتمعُgathered together
بين الأفاضل فيك مجتمعُ
What can I say, when everything apportioned
What can I say when every good trait
Among the eminent is gathered together in you?
In you is perfectly complete
