Much-praised, ample of cloak and noble character.

When he defends, he acts openly; when he gives, he conceals it.

Noble-spirited: his rival flees from him, and poverty too,

Before his terrifying might and overflowing generosity.

A mountain of steadfastness when calamity strikes,

And a keen, grooved sword when he resolves.

Expert at striking armored men upon their crowns.

Then, when the air turns dust-dark from drought,

And its dusty haze blackens until all is deeply dark,

And the clouds become scattered, divided,

    Dispersed like herds of livestock,

No moisture from its dark cloud, nor any drizzle,

Al-Sahib's bounty makes the downpour of steady rains needless,

And drenches men's lowlands and the hills

With a copious deluge of blessings pouring down.

No moisture from its dark cloud, nor any drizzle.

Poverty dreads him, and hardships fear him.

Of high-humped camels and black ones with two humps,

His wealth is vast and plentiful, not a small herd.

So he is the state's pillar, faithful to his pledges,

The glory of kings and the refuge where protection is sought,

If misfortune oppresses, and if calamity strikes.

    أيَّامُه في كلِّ ما يبْغي خَدَمْ

    May he live obeyed as long as a landmark guides travelers;

His days are servants in all that he seeks.
