May you endure, Ghiyath al-Din, as long as night grows dark,
You remained the savior of faith when night was darkest
And as long as the sun of day rises.
And dawn from the sun of day had not yet arrived

Those seeking protection turn to you, as do seekers of
The protected seek refuge in you, and they asked
bounty; you give lavishly and grant refuge.
For gifts, so you give generously and offer protection

For many a rival in combat has died at your hands,
So many centuries died in your palms
And many a poor man has lived by their bounty.
And so many lived in poverty through your gifts

The dust of your campaign blinds the sun's eye,
Your raids blind the pupils of the sun through its setting
Yet amid it your spear has a keen eye for throats.
And your spear within it is insightful and keen

For your white blades, the heads of noble lords in battle
For your white banners the covering cloths in the fray
are pillars; and for the supple blue spears, there are throats.
Are pillars and for the blue the spears are strong

أبو الفتح طِفلاً والقميصُ بَقيرُ
He gathered glory, leaving no stray part of it—
It contained glory until none of it was left
Abu al-Fath, still a child, his shirt slit open.
Abu Al-Fath an infant and his shirt stained

Unyielding, he turns away when humiliation is imposed on him,
A father who when fate oppresses bows down
But beneath the banner he is steadfast.
But under the banner he is patient

I wish always to remain beneath his dust-cloud,
I wish I would not cease under his outcries
And my eye is proud of the dust-cloud's kohl.
And my eyes from his kohl are proud

Yet, whether near or far, I am sincerely devoted,
But near and far I am loyal
A loyal friend, grateful through the passage of time.
And for me over the course of time there is gratitude
