ألا يا أمير المؤمنين الذي به

أفُلُّ الرَّزايا جحفلاً بعد جحفل

أفُلُّ الرَّزايا جحفلاً بعد جحفل

Lo, O Commander of the Faithful, through whom

O Commander of the Faithful, through whom

I rout calamities, host after host;

Misfortunes cease flowing in waves, wave after wave,

وكنتُ متى استصرختُهُ لملمَّةٍ

وكنتُ متى استصرختُهُ لملمَّةٍ

حماني فأغنى عن سِنانٍ ومنصُل

حماني فأغنى عن سِنانٍ ومنصُل

And whenever I cried to him for help in a calamity,

Whenever I cried out to him in dire need,

He protected me, making spearhead and sword needless.

He protected me, making spears and swords unnecessary,

جعلتك في أمري عصاماً ولم تزلْ

جعلتك في أمري عصاماً ولم تزلْ

عصاميَ من بعد الاِله وموئلي

عصاميَ من بعد الاِله وموئلي

I made you a mainstay in my affairs, and you have ever been

I made you, in my affair, a strong pillar, and you have not ceased to be

My mainstay, after God, and my refuge.

My pillar after God, and my place of shelter,

أغثني أغثني عاجلاً غير آجلٍ

أغثني أغثني عاجلاً غير آجلٍ

باِخراس مجموعِ المخازي قرنفل

باِخراس مجموعِ المخازي قرنفل

Help me, help me, at once, not later,

Help me, help me immediately, not later,

By silencing Qaranful, the sum of all disgraces.

With a disabling blow to the gathered army of Khosrau.
