تَضرُّعاً واليه يصعدُ الكَلمُ
I asked my Lord and the Lord of all mankind,
I asked my Lord, the Lord of all people
In supplication—and to Him words ascend—
With pleading, and to Him words rise

أوْقَ المكارمِ تحلو عندهُ النِّعمُ
To avert harm from the soul of one who bears
That He may turn harm away from the enduring beloved
The burden of noble deeds, with whom blessings grow sweet;
The virtuous, with Him bounties are sweet

And to protect Baha al-Din from an ailment
And that He may protect Bahauddin from adversity
From which eminence, glory, and generosity fall ill.
That makes the eminent and glory and generosity falter

They flee from his neighbor in every calamity,
He flees from his neighbor in every calamity
And from his guest—the two killers, injustice and destitution.
And his guest, oppression and nonexistence are killers

كريهةٌ ما استمرَّ الصبُّح والظلَم
The house of noble virtues—may there never descend upon its courtyard
The home of virtues, no disgrace entered its yard
A calamity, so long as dawn and darkness endure.
As long as the dawn and darkness continued
