    When the Zaynabi lineage abounds

in illustrious men, and its ancient nobility grows strong,

pride's face beams with delight in it,

and Islam's bonds are strengthened, and glory rejoices.

Swift to offer hospitality and aid, in morning and darkness,

when champions shrink back and support is withheld.

The years' drought glances at them and vanishes,

and battle's fire remembers them and blazes fiercer.

And their share of glory and eminence was increased by

Abu Ahmad—may praise ever be his adornment.

He keeps his bounty free of reminders of favors and intercession,

and is too noble to let a promise precede his giving.
