كلُّ شيءٍ تدبيرهُ مُسْتحيلٌ

كلُّ شيءٍ تدبيرهُ مُسْتحيلٌ

فمُجيلُ الآراءِ فيهِ مَلومُ

فمُجيلُ الآراءِ فيهِ مَلومُ

Whatever is impossible to manage,

Everything's management is impossible

Whoever deliberates over it is to blame.

So blameworthy are wise opinions therein

فاسْتَنِمْ واسْتهنْ بما يُعْجزُ الرَّأيَ

فاسْتَنِمْ واسْتهنْ بما يُعْجزُ الرَّأيَ

فلا حظَّ فيهِ إِلاَّ الهُمومُ

فلا حظَّ فيهِ إِلاَّ الهُمومُ

So rest easy and make light of what baffles thought;

So rest and be satisfied with what defeats opinion

For there is nothing to gain from it but worries.

For there is no fortune therein but worries

هَوَّنَ الموتَ وهو أصْعبُ شيءٍ

هَوَّنَ الموتَ وهو أصْعبُ شيءٍ

أنَّهُ مُبْرَمُ القَضا مَحْتومُ

أنَّهُ مُبْرَمُ القَضا مَحْتومُ

Death was made easier, though it is the hardest thing,

Make death easier though it be most difficult

By the fact that it is irrevocably decreed and inevitable.

That it is certain, ordained and destined
