لاlet not يعجزَنْكَdaunt you المجدُglory منْbecause of بُعْدهِits remoteness
لا يعجزَنْكَ المجدُ منْ بُعْدهِ
وانْand even if نَضاwears out عيسَكَyour pale camels اِدْلاجاtraveling by night
وانْ نَضا عيسَكَ اِدْلاجا
Do not let glory daunt you by its remoteness,
Glory does not make you unable
even if it wears out your pale camels on night journeys.
to attain it even if its path is dangerous.
واسْلكand tread إِلىtoward اِحْرازِattaining غاياتهِits goals
واسْلك إِلى اِحْرازِ غاياتهِ
وَعْراًa rugged course مِنof الرَّأيjudgment ومِنْهاجاand a clear path
وَعْراً مِن الرَّأي ومِنْهاجا
And tread, to attain its goals,
Follow the path leading to your ultimate goals
a rugged course of judgment and a clear path.

كمhow many خامِلٍan obscure man صارَbecame بتدْبيرهِthrough his planning
كم خامِلٍ صارَ بتدْبيرهِ

ما بن أبْناءِ العُلى تاجا
How many an obscure man has, through his planning, become
With wisdom many an idle soul
a crown among the sons of eminence,
became a glorious crown among the noble.
كوَرَقِlike the foliage of التُّوتِthe mulberry علىdespite ضَعْفهِits frailty
كوَرَقِ التُّوتِ على ضَعْفهِ
أصْبَحَbecame بالتَّدبيرِthrough skillful handling ديباجاsilk brocade
أصْبَحَ بالتَّدبيرِ ديباجا
like mulberry foliage that, despite its frailty,
Like the mulberry's fragile leaf
has become, through skillful handling, silk brocade.
