May your throne never be overthrown, sons of Asad,
No equal to your throne, O clan of Asad,
And may you endure as long as the acacia puts forth leaves.
You remain as long as the peace tree grows green.

For glory has its birthplace in your homelands,
Glory has its fount your abodes,
And the abodes of high honor are with you.
And with you rest the lofty ones.

You who give food and thrust with spears when
Givers of food when drizzles the rain of sprouting,
The spear-shafts rain down and the steady rains fail.
Pressers of pure wine when the vineyards ripen.

So when your generosity squanders wealth,
When you squander wealth your munificence guards it;
You safeguard the neighbor and the pledges of protection.
Preservation, where neighbor and covenants lodge.

They strut about the dove-cotes when
The armored champions quail and the mighty warriors are humbled.
The zealous grow less and the confused abate.

Standards of glory, not hidden,
Banners of glory, nothing hidden,
And Sayf al-Dawla is their standard.
Over them waves the sword of the State.

Protector of glory with his hand,
Come the two supporters, valor and generosity.
The aider, strong and munificent.

To his enemies he is a blazing fire,
To the foe a kindled brand,
And to those seeking his bounty, a cool watering-place.
To those who seek refuge a meadow and pool.

He brings calamities to life when he resolves,
He brings to life events with his resolve,
And destitution dies through his beneficence.
And because of his bounty death itself dies.

O Ṣadq, may no calamity visit you by night,
O loyal one, no affliction has struck you,
And the benevolent God is your refuge.
And God the Clement is your defender.

By the glory you witnessed
The days and nations have borne witness to.
Have days and peoples vaunted.
