May you endure for every noble deed and feat of valor,

Singled out for virtues and lofty attainments.

Whenever you live to see a month's crescent,

The auspicious stars summon you to another crescent.

    Calamities and misfortunes shun you,

As routed troops flee the thrusts of spearpoints.

So whoever seeks your bounty has no need of clouds,

And whoever seeks your aid has no need of combat.

And how often you have encircled necks with favors

That weigh down the noble necks of men.

You concealed the sending of those favors, yet wealth betrayed the secret,

And one condition after another revealed it.

When the dust haze of drought enshrouds the lands,

You send upon it a downpour of bounty.

So all that was dust-covered grows fertile,

Pouring abundant rain, its cloud-spouts streaming.

O Imad al-Dawla, guardian of his domain,

When the tribes are without a protector,

Well-pleasing to the Imam, and his chosen one,

For the nobility of character he esteems.

So may felicitations never leave your dwellings,

Throughout our days and throughout the nights.
